President
Karen Higgins
Like many children, girls in particular, I always wanted a horse but the best my parents could do was a dog – and I loved him! Eventually I was fortunate enough to be able to have own horse/s for myself and also for my two children – they both went to local Pony Club for many years. Now my daughter and I mostly concentrate on Show Jumping, but I often like to dabble in other disciplines. Have been involved with Northside for many years now.
Show jumping co-Phase Head

Hélène Brassier
Ellen has the privilege to do Dressage with Bambi (picture), the most gorgeous OTT. This French rider also loves liberty/ground work, trail rides and casual jumping, especially when she goes back to France! Working mostly in Business Process Improvement / Business Analysis, she also casually works as a stable hand when possible. Ellen has been thrilled to join the friendly and energetic Dressage Phase in July 2017.
Dressage Co-Phase Head
Jennifer Berryman
Hooked on all things equine since age 2, Jennie has ridden on and off throughout her life (mostly on, occasionally off!) but only acquired her first pony Stella around the time she became officially a ‘senior’. Now Jennie and Stella have a go at most comps and clinics on offer - but none of it very seriously! A librarian and senior public servant, Jennie began with the Committee as Grants Officer and took on the Secretary’s role in 2015 and VP in 2017.
Vice President
Sherryn McPherson
Sherryn has been crazy about horses all her life. She started riding lessons at age 4 and finally convinced her parents to buy her first pony at age 12. She rides, trains and competes in all disciplines of the sport however sometimes nothing can beat a relaxing Sunday afternoon trail with friends. Sherryn joined the committee in 2015 to assist with the management of the internet, newsflashes, Nag Rag Magazine and various advertising campaigns. In 2017, Sherryn was elected as Secretary for the club.
PR & Marketing Phase Head & Secretary
Danielle Small
Danielle was a stay at home mum of 3 sons until she met a jodphur wearing mother at the school gate one day. Her horsey radar went up and she followed that mum to Samuri riding school. Today, in her 50's she finaly owns her own horse, school master Dino. Danielle Shares the social phase role with Dee. Danielle is fond of keeping the club house clean and Dee has nicknamed her "Mrs Mop"
Social Phase co- Head
Dee McVicker
Dee, the secret lovechild of Reiner Klimke and Marion Mould, was raised in a wonderful mountain-loving family in Yorkshire. Keen to allow her to express her individuality and pursue her bizarre interest in ponies, her parents bought her a rather wild 4 year old for her ninth birthday and kept it the farm next door to the family’s lake district weekender. Fast forward 40 years and eventing loving Dee has had to transform into a dressage diva due to a neck injury and when not faffing about with her two and four legged family members, she is organising talks, protocol days and various other activities for NRC members with her adorable partner in crime Danielle (Who does all the hard bits).
